Congratulations to lyonsbennett client GCP Student Living plc on winning the Gold Award for best printed report: AIM or Small Cap, at the prestigious 2019 Corporate and Financial Awards (CFA) held in London last night.

The annual awards, held at the historic Brewery on Chiswell Street in the heart of the city, celebrate excellence in city communications.

In their citation, the CFA judges complimented the beautiful and well-crafted photography, the minimal colours and choice of paper stock which helped the report stand out from the crowd.

Judges agreed that the ‘lyonsbennett report was the pick of the bunch’ from a strong group of nominations, bringing the corporate story to life in a compelling way. The use of divider pages and maps help the reader to navigate the report, with good proof points in the results sections which tied into the business ambitions of the company.

Chloe Marlow, head of corporate reporting at GCP Student Living plc said: “To win Gold at such a prestigious event as the Corporate and Financial Awards is testament to the teams at both Gravis and lyonsbennett. Tasked to design and produce a report with clear and compelling messaging, charting the developing journey of GCP Student, lyonsbennett delivered a report that met all these objectives. We were thrilled to win this award.”

Lyonsbennett co-founder and creative director Darren Bennett said: “We are absolutely delighted for Chloe and her team. This award recognises the importance of creative design and effective and inspiring photography to communicate corporate messaging to investors and shareholders. We are very proud of our contribution to Gravis’ success on the evening.”

The GCP Student’s annual report was designed following a rebrand by its fund manager Gravis, with the latest reports using a new colour palette and distinctive font to complement the website, factsheets and presentations. The coffee table feel, with heavy and textured paper incorporated rich colours with thread-sewn binding.

GCP Student Living plc is a UK real estate investment trust (REIT) and was the first UK REIT traded on the London Stock Exchange investing in student accommodation assets in and around London. It is designed to provide dependable, growing dividends and capital appreciation.
